Failing fast start feature

Is there an easy way to disconnect the fast start feature on my 1996 Evinrude 130HP? The idle never goes below 1100 rpm's now. This has been happening for 2 weekends now something that did not happen prior. It affects shifting from forward into nuetral as I need to slip the shifter slightly into the reverse position to get forward to disengage.

Rather than disconnect Quick Start, fix what's wrong. Disableing QS will also disable SLOW and the rev limiter. Since the feature works off of a heat sensor it could be you don't have one of the overheat sensors working. Check out the cost of a rebuild.

What would be the best manual for me to buy for this outboard?

Personally I prefer the OE manual. It's much more specific than an aftermarket one.
