Hello

Finally got around to fixing the dents in my Tuffy. The one farther back was easy because it's not curved there lol. The area where it curves I am not sure how to fair it! What I mean is, I can put the repair putty on, but how do I sand it level? It's a curved area so using a flat sander will make an ugly flat spot on it - not desirable, especially right on the edge where it is easily seen. Also should the faired surface be 100% level, or concave to accept the gelcoat and flake? I can do either.

Thanks for the advice

or learn to use the tools on non-flat surface.

its all about technique and time on tool. you need to be rolling the tool back and forth with your hands to mach the curves.

it would help if you ever done production body work.

best is to practice on foam block

Well, in case anyone has the same challenge I faced, I found something that worked pretty darn well. Grab a chunk of 60 grit, and get a piece of wood about 1/4 inch thick. Staple the sandpaper onto the board, and press the board against the hull. The board will bend and take shape of the hull, and then you can get it perfect. Keep sanding and filling, maybe repeat about 5 times, or more for better results. Then throw the gel on top.IMG_5590.JPG
