I have just finished replacing the floor/deck in a 13' ft 1968 Crosby Sled. The old foam was wet and had to go. I need to blend the new with the old around the edges and conceal any evidence of glass work. I am thinking I need something that flows well and is easy to work/sand and have been looking at some standard filler resin mixtures. Before I jump in and start slapin chemicals together I would like to hear from the pro's. Sure would appreciate any suggestions.

Re: Fairing Compounds

depending on how much you need......standard peanut butter will work fine....and you can adjust the resin content for flow......add milled fibers to it for some structural stability...

(if you dont know what peanut butter is....search "peanut butter")

for actual farring.......i used a product called "poly fair".....some use bondo "dyna hair"

cheers

I was in a pinch and used some interlux compound, I think it was watertite maybe. Anyway it was good stuff, dried quick and was easy to sand.

Is poly-fair OK to use with poly resin (or even specifically for that?)
