After reading this story I cant believe that the kidnapper is still alive and/or a family member isnt in jail for beating him senseless.<br /><br />

Family members chased the car and retrieved the child, who said the man had offered him a ride to the store to get candy, Sullivan said.

Scary, there are bad people out there. Where were these people when my generation was growing up. Did we just not hear about kidnapping??

There has to be more to this story.<br /><br />Who is this "kidnapper"? Did the boy know him?<br /><br />Were the police called immediately?<br /><br />What did "the family" do after they caught up? Did the "kidnapper" try to run? Why? Why not?<br /><br />Sounds like a seed for some really wild gossip to me.

There is more.<br /><br />The suspect was observed casing the neighborhood before luring the boy into his car.<br /><br />A neighbor notified the parents immediately.<br /><br />The parents chased the car down and got the boy away from the suspect, who then GOT AWAY!!<br /><br />Then the cops were called. They are looking for the suspect.<br /><br />The family avoided TV crews and would not appear on camera.
