Fan Wires Dead! Help!

I am all but finished rebuilding my 19' '89 Bayliner Capri with an I/O 3.0L I4 OMC/Cobra drive. I removed the fan from the boat to put down the flooring and recently reattached it, but it will not work. The fan is fine bc I've placed it on a battery and it works fine. This leads me to believe the wiring is bad, but it worked 6 months ago. I checked my shop manual's wiring chart and the wire and switch are not even included in it. I checked the wire for a fuse and found none. Could it be the switch on the dash? or could it be the fuse block that everything is connected it? I really don't want to take out my dash to check all the wiring. Has anyone had the same problem or have any suggestions?

Did you check to see if you have voltage at the switch?

have a multimeter? (if you don't, I highly recommend an autoranging digital) you can test the switch for continuity, check for voltage at each point battery to fuse to switch to device - it's really just a process of elimination.
