fancy greases when rebuilding...

do i absolutely need the various greases recommended in the shop manual for a powerhead rebuild?

like: "2-4-C with Teflon"

i have 2 stroke oil for metal parts, and light lithium grease spray to apply to the seals, etc. is this enough?

will my motor self destruct because of this plan?

It kinda depends on what motor you are rebuilding. Most Mercs need aome multipurpose grease to stick the rod and pin bearings into place. That an 2 cycle oil will see you thru. Some motors want locktite and perfect seal. There are substitiutions for the pricy OEM stuff.
