I have a '92 Johnson 115 V4...

I'm going to try and set mt WOT timing, but I need to know if I have the "fast start" feature. How can I tell? Or does anyone know if this motor would have it?

Somewhere in the 89 timeframe they came out with it for the V6 engines. If yours had it, you should see something about it in the starting part of the owner's manual. The power pack advances the timing slightly when cold. Once the engine warms up, the power pack returns to "normal" timing. If you had a service manual, you may be able to determine how to disarm it. Or, just wait till the engine is warmed up to perform your timing procedure.

QuikStart/S.L.O.W. systems have a black and white wire in addition to the tan wire running from the temperature switch in the cylinder head.

Ok... Thanks ya'll... I don't see anything about it in the manual, and I'v only got the one tan wire coming from the temp sensors.

Thanks again ya'll
