Faststrike Carb Leak

I recently noticed a steady drip of fuel from one of the float bowls where the little BB is pressed to seal the fuel passage. About the time this fuel leak started, when I would take off to a new fishing spot after fishing for a few hours it would fall on its face and die when I first tried accelerating. I would restart and fast idle for a few second and all would be good.
Could this be cause by one of the float bowls going empty after it’s dripped out and me accelerating before it’s filled up again?

Second question is: would that carb sucking air while idling cause the engine to kind of kick every 3 or 4 seconds? It idles good but almost kicks/jerks every few seconds like one cylinder is running richer or something? Just got the boat and trying to get it tuned correctly.

Thanks

The fuel pump would fill an empty float bowl in mere seconds.------Float bowls are known to warp.----You might want to check them.

Even after replacing them, keep an eye out. That plastic doesnt seem to last. Did a friends last year, and noticed this fall there is a definite warp starting.

Note: Dont overtighten those screws, only enhances the problem.
