Had a minute to look at motor tonight 1959 Fat 50. FOr those of you who dont know my situation, she starts, howver takes a while to plane, once there she runs pretty much ok, under any load (additional passengers, wont plane). Anyway, I checked my plugs before starting the advice Joe Reeves and others have given me and low and behold, J8C, not J4C as they should have.

Could the J8C's be the problem??

Thanks!
Daron

Re: Fat 50 Update

Wal Mart did not have J4C, either did NAPA so I used J6C per Joe Reeves advice. There was me and another adult and my 5 year old son, hole shot may be a bit better, top end was fine.

Should i still get J4Cs or continue to troubleshoot the hole shot with the J6C's??

Thanks!

Daron

The J4Cs are better for lots of wide-open running, but the J6Cs are best for a lot of slow running.

You'll be fine to deal with your tests with the J6Cs, though.
