Well here is what he has, 2007 triton 210 with mercury pro xs 250 with ss 25 pitch prop, not sure on gear ratio, I goggled it and came back 1.75 ratio, and I'm not sure if that is standard or an option. Today I had my gps with me and we ran 55mph turning 5100, if I'm not mistaken this engine should run 6000 at wot. Any suggestions for props and don't these motors generally turn these high pitch props with ease, thanks for your replys

Re: father in law wants more speed but stubborn

Something is wrong.

I have a friend on the Bassmaster Elite circuit, and he had speed problems with his 21' Ranger with XS250 Merc. His local Mercury dealer said the engine appeared to have the correct horsepower. He then ran it up to Flippen, AR to Ranger Boats, and they went to the lake.

After they checked out everything, they discovered he had 450 pounds of jelly worms in the front compartment. They removed the worms, and were back up to over 70 mph.

Got any worms?

The Triton is a very good hull--now being built alongside the Rangers in Flippen. It should be running in the low to mid 70's. If still under warranty, the dealer needs to look at it, as it's not even close to where it should be.
