Faulty Tachometer on Yamaha 70hp

Any help would be apprecitated. My gauges are blinking low fuel/oil and that the trim tab is all the way up. It does show how fast I am moving and thats about it.
Any ideas what could cause this?

I wonder how many versions of tachometers and engines have been manufactured by yamaha in the 70 Hp range since about 1984.
here is where a model number may actually help, digital pics of the speedometer and the tach may help.
when did the problem start ?
