Fd-11 needle valve bushing

Does this bushing just kinda drop in the opening then put in 2 packing washers then the low speed needle? Thank you

Well yes, but I do it slightly differently. I stack the packing nut, packings & whatever on the needle valve, then the bushing just a few turns. Now push the whole assembly into the hole and tighten the packing nut just enough to keep the bushing from spinning. Then run the needle in to gently seat and back out 1-1/2 turns, Finally,, tighten the packing nut snugly.

Doing it this way keeps that darn bushing from spinning as you attempt to start the needle in place.

Ok thank you. Been a long time since I done one of these old carbs. Last time I did one I wasn’t aware of this website., If I need to adjust the slow speed needle do I have to loosen the packing nut?

Don't over tighten the packing nut when you originally install it so you can still turn the needle.
