FD-11 tune up kit.

I purchased a tune up kit, everything included. But the spark plug wires they sent one seems to be too short. I compared it to the original one. Anyone else run into this issue? Thx

Guess what I’m asking is the wires should be different lengths right? To allow for travel of the armature plate.

Correct they are different length because of the way the coils are mounted on the plate.----You have the magneto plate off to look at this or not yet ?

Yes I have everything off I left the plug wires until I got everything ordered. I got it all from vintage outboards. They sent 2 wires the exact same length, I sent them an email. Would you happen to know the exact length? It’s the plug wire on bottom cylinder that goes all the to the coil close to the armature link side. Thx

Yep.. that bottom wire is longer. If you hit the parts store to replace..get solid wire core wire. Auto wires will fail.

install both cut them after … I am pretty certain Vintage outboard folks know this issue so install the wires and cut them off where needed to allow for for max rotation on the mag plate then install the boots and prick pins

It’s not a major problem I can’t get another wire. Just wanted to ask.

Online supplier ?-----I go to an Evinrude dealer.----They cut what I ask for and I get about 20' a time.----Cut to length when I put them on a motor.

Yessir, I got the original order as a package deal. I’ll order about 5’ from here or marine engine.
