So i've recently purchased a 99 Crownline 202BR. Boat has been decently upkept but needed bellows and such and some TLC. Bellows are completed, did new spark plugs, oil and oil filter. This boat has a 5.0 mercruiser thunderbolt ignition with a alpha drive gen 2. I honestly dont know what t expect out of speed on this thing. It feels sluggish to me- it revs good and gets into its prime RPM (4400-4800) rpm but i always seem to be trying to get more and over revving it- getting into the 5k's ( one is this even ok or should you stay away from it?) the highest speed i have seen on this is around 41mph in semi calm water and with two people on board.- with 4 of us on board and pulling a tube of two people when i was around 4600 rpm i was only going 30 or so. Any help is appreciated- i dont know if im expecting too much or what! Prop is a little banged up i think its time for a refinish and a new one and keep this as a spare. Everything else is solid.
