I'm trying to got he right way about repairing the deck on my 1986 1750v procraft boat that I purchased. I've taken out the seats and carpet and I'm ready to cut out the deck to ensure that my stringers and hull are safe. I want to check on the bones and not take any risks. I have a few questions of course. I'm just doing the lower deck. 1) how do I know where my stringers are so I don't cut into them and should I just cut around the edges. 2) Is totalboat penetrating epoxy a good epoxy for treating the 3/4" marine plywood? 3) what brand or type of glass and epoxy to secure the glass should I use? Is the epoxy for the glass the same as the penetrating epoxy I'll use for treating the deck? 4) Should I secure the deck with 5200 3M glue and then secure the edges and any plywood seams with more fiberglass? Do I need screws or will that just cause rotting? Thanks a lot to anyone that takes the time to read this and respond!
