Fiberglassing Corners?

Is it true that you should round off the corners that you are going to fiberglass instead of glassing a 90 degree corner. I'm not sure if I have heard this or not. I am currently glassing a transom and was wondering about the outside 90's on the bilge side.

Don't know if its a "rule" so to speak, but it sure makes an easier job of getting the cloth to lay down around the corner without causing bubbles in the glass...

The idea behind a fillet is to distribute the force across a larger area. It makes the joint stronger plus it looks better. It will also make the joint easier to clean...

You don't need to radius inside corners, it'll go, but outside corners really benefit from radiusing. Otherwise, the glass will pull away at the corner and leave air pockets, not a good thing.

Thanks Guys(or other people that boat). I was almost done with the transom prep and had this flashback and wasn't sure. JasonJ...that makes sense.
