can fibreglass be cut or ground down successfully?presumably it would need sealing again @ top.If anyone has done this or knows what to do let me know as I need to reduce the height by 1"

Going to move this over to the Boat Restoration and Building forum. LOTS of fiberglass information and help there.

Not a problem to cut it off and re-glass the top, but what's the reason for it?

It turns out that it was glass over ply anyway .Managed to cut down 1.5'' knotch in transom to lower my outboard as it was ventilating badly.cheers

Same thing happend to a friend of mine, the small short shaft motors are an inch or so shy of working on these transoms.
