Hi, I have a 2000mod ( I think ) 90HP Fich Ram engine.
Lately I have a hard time to start it when it is cold.
It doesn't idle up / choke automatical like it did before. It just start for a second and then dies.
So now I have to manually idle it up with the trottle ( even if the instruction manual have a note that I shouldn't do it ).
But when I manually use the trottle it starts without any problem.
I force it around 2000rpm for about 1 minute and then release the trottle and the motor runs normal.
Anything I can check here? Does the choke use a vacuum controlled mechanical system or?

You will need a professional to check out the 40 volt system to see if it is operating correctly at cranking and idling speed. It is possible that the regulator inside the EMM is not switching the stator coils properly, or the stator itself is weak. The voltage can be monitored on a laptop using the diagnostic software.

There is no choke on that engine. What shape are the spark plugs in? Spark plugs take a beating in Ficht engines, loading up with carbon.
