FICHT OIL IN 1992 175 EVINRUDES

CAN I RUN REGULAR JOHNSON OIL IN A FICHT MOTOR I HAVE SEVERAL GALLLONS OF GOOD JOHNSON OIL. WILL IT HURT MOTORS ??? I HAVE 2-92 175 FICHT EVINRUDES JUST BOUGHT....DONT WANT TO HURT THEM ??

Howdy, RTUTTLE.<br /><br />Ficht engines weren't available in '92.<br /><br />Give us the model numbers from your engines. Then we can make responsible recommendations.<br /><br />Also, please don't use all capitals. It seems like shouting. Thanks.

I wouldn't use regular oil in any DFI. They use a lot less oil, so the oil better be very good.

correct the 92 evinrudes are 1998 fichts not 92's sorry - i also have 2-92 200 hp johnsons. (EDIT) can i run the good johnson oil in my fichts - i have 4-5 gallons of it bought for 92-200 johnsons --???

have to agree with WillyB for the cost of a few gallons of oil why take the chance, use it as a "sweetener" to whoever buys the old motors

Use only Ficht designated oil in those Fichts, RTUTTLE. DFI engines have different lube requirements than engines that run fuel through the crankcase.<br /><br />We don't allow offers to buy or sell on the board, but you might try iboats classifieds.<br /><br />Good luck.

The ficht-ram oil is perfectly fine in the older engines.
