Filling countersunk screw holes

Hi,

I'm in the process of repacing my deck and have screwed the floor to the stringers. I have counter sunk the screws. For some reason, I am uneasy about filling the screw holes with any thing totally permanent. In the event I did something wrong and needed to raise the floor again I would like to be able to get to the screw heads. I was thinking of caulking the holes befor laying down two layers of 1.5 oz mat. Later, if needed, I could cut narrow sections of the mat covering the filled holes, pry it off the floor and be able to remove the screws.

Would this work?

those will glue themselves in once the resin is applied and will have to be drilled out. I don't think there is really a way to do what you want to do. For a floor to be installed right Imo it needs to be glassed in to the sides of the boat. Floor are permanent until ripped out. They are not designed to be taken up and put back down. They need to be rigid as they will add structual integrity to the rest of the boat. If you do it right seal it good and keep it dried out it will outlast you.

IMO, don't try to make them accessible. In doing that, somewhere in the back of your mind, you are conceding that your work may not hold up. Put the deck and screws in as if they are forever and finish the glassing the same way. It is surprising how long a deck will last.

Quick Question:
If the floor is a permanent structure, how do you feel about gas tank/ski storage access holes. I will be rebuilding my floor this winter and am curious about installing an access panel for my gas tank, as well as, the under-floor ski storage.
