I was wondering if this is a very common thing with boats  When I go to fill the gas tanks on both my ski boat and fishing boat, I have to go extremely slow or it will kill the pump handle, and I do mean sslllloooowwwwww. And with todays gas prices, that jsut gives me time to stew over how high prices are
Is there somethign I can do to speed this process up???

Make sure something is not plugging the vent line. If the vent through hull fitting does not have a screen in it insects will build mud nests in them and plug them up.

I have to turn the handle upside down to get mine to fill up. I know my vent isn't plugged up because the gas comes out of it when it is full.

mine fills slowly as well. only filled it twice so far. need to inspect vent on mine for (peace of mind)

when it was mostly empty, could feel air coming out of vent with force, but after i reached about half capacity felt airflow was decreased dramatically.

I also have this problem. The feul dock attendant told me that it was because there was a kink in the line for the vent. Never fixed it because it isn't really worth it to be ripping apart the boat just to save a few minutes at the pump.

The nozzle will shut off if you hold it too far down inside. Lift it up a few inches and then it should stop popping off.

look at the vent even if its not cloged mine came from the factory with a full 360 deg loop  WTF

allways had problems changed it to a normal by the CG BOOK path and much less problems

also if i stand on the transome it fills worse it really likes to be level

they tend to put the fill and vent lines near each other at the rear of the tanks on a lot of boats

tommays
