Re: Filling Transom Holes.....

Sprinbok, I just saw this the other day and am trying to find it myself. Its a black pad that has sticky tape on one side and goes under the motor on the transom. I just purchased another boat a couple days ago and this was on it. Not only does it look nicer but covers up all the holes....I'll take a pic later and email it to you if you leave your email address.....Warren

Covering the hole is probably a good idea! Usually the holes are contaminated with some type of silicone product and they cant be repaird properly without drilling out to uncontaminated material! Seal with sealant and cover them!!

Re: Filling Transom Holes.....

The last time I did that on a 1961 16' Texas Maid Fiesta aluminum runabout, I used JB Weld. Sanded off the excess on the outside to make it look good and never had a leak (there). Now, the rivets that occasionally popped out of the bottom, that's a different story.

Ron

Just some food for thought. You can purchase small pkg. of product called Eternabond tape at rv supply store. I have a large roll I am fixing to use on my m/o and all I have heard it is super great stuff......once there always there.

hello
I use wooden dowel rod coated with epoxy. cut the rod 1/4inch shorter than flush so both ends can be sealed with epoxy and sanded flush. that way in the future you can drill again and the transom does not resemble swiss cheese.
good luck and keep posting
