I be thinking my fuel tank might have a rather large amount of gunk floating around in it, I only cleaned the filter housing out prior to last trip had a lot of gunk that resembled ciggy tobacco in it, I just pulled it off again and more gunk in it, guess I better clean the tank out and see whats in it.

Yup a tank that's set for any length of time can go bad.
Try a water/fuel seperating filter. Installed usually right after the tank and before the squeezie.
The one shown has a see through sediment bowl. Down there probably be a million$$:)
I also put a see through filter between the carb and the pump. But if your experiencing a lot of crud??
Maybe put it before the pump.
Be carefull when cleaning out the tank. No vacuums. You can use Dawn(got that down there?) or Simple Green or any good cleaner. Can you get to the sending unit hole? Be very careful as you can destroy the tank by stripping the holes??

Re: Filter Blocked Again

My fuel tank is stainless steel, I have got Simple Green products here my sister actually sells them, I have just bought a filter like the one you posted Im about to go and fit it as you said, I bought a new fuel line and squeezy on the weekend too so Ill fit that as well, hopefully this will cure the leak and make the old Chrysler perform a wee bit better, some of you brothers from the old USA have some mighty sexy boats, good to see the old Chryslers alive and well over there.
