2000 200hp Saltwater series sxt200 .I have seen that there is a filter on the bottom of the main oil resevoir tank on some models.I dont see it anywhere in my clymer manual. My tank does not look like it has ever been removed so before I tackle the mounting bracket, does anyone know if certain year models have it or do not have the filter??? Thanks Charlie

Yamaha lists two, items #3 and #21 (strainer) for a 2000 SXT200

Update......There IS a small inline filter UNDER the 2cycle oil reservoir.Yes under the reservoir.Simple to replace AFTER you unbolt the reservoir retainer/tiedown/boltdown and lift the reservoir out of the compartment housing it.(way easier if reservoir is emptied) Turn the reservoir on its side and low and behold....an inline filter. Way more time consuming than it should be.Im sure Yamaha has a good reason why the filter is on the bottom however servicing it would be waaaay easier for me if it was more acessable. Charlie

The strainer is normally on the side of the tank. Perhaps yours was misplaced.
