Hello All,
I have just looked at friends motor,OMC Cobra 5.0 litre, and changed the fuel filter.I found what I thought at first was an in line filter,[about 2" diameter and 2.5" long]between the fuel tank and squeeze bulb.I was going to take out and do without it as I have had trouble with those small filters before.BUT.there is one insulated wire coming out of the delivery end of it.could it be a fuel pump
[doesn't look like one] or some other device.
Motor flies with new filter ok.
Thanks for any information.

Ayuh,...

It sounds like you've found a boat with a Serverely Cobbed Up fuel system....

There should Not be a Primer Bulb, Nor the extra electric Fuelpump....

What Should be there is,...
The Fuel Tank, with the check-valve at the outlet, the fuel line to a spin on cannister filter,+ then the Fuelpump, with the metal line to the Carb....
That's It....

Re: Filter/pump ?

Thanks fellers,The metal fuel line goes straight from the spin-on filter to the carburettor.Bit dark down there but followed it by finger and could not find any joins to fuel pump etc.Could the device in question actually be a fuel pump.Seems to be a crappy little thing for a big motor if it is.
Goes ok tho.
