Over the years, each time I use a funnel for oils, etc, post using I spend the time to clean it up (brake clean, paper towels) to keep it from dripping all over other stuff after I put it away. While I have left them in the gallon jugs that I use for my waste oil, I am always nervous about these uncapped containers waiting to be knocked over. I have often thought of crafting a rack to hold the funnels with a drip tray underneath that is tied into some sort of drain system but never got there.

Enter 3D printing and finally a great solution! I am sure others have already discovered them but posting here to highlight this cool solution. They are magnetic or can mount to them to a wall. I have found them on eBay and AZ. They are still pricey and hopefully will come down over time. Link to the AZ version I bought.

My main concern is I don't want them getting dirty before I use 'em again (the skinny ones are hard to clean out, obviously), so I stick a paper towel in them, another one or two in the bottom of a Wal Mart bag and tie them up in there. Maybe put that in a small box. Ready to go next time I need them, lol.

If I could ever get my garage clean like that again, I might could leave them out for a while, heh. It's on the "someday" list.

And here I’ve been using a coffee can and paper towels for over 40 years. All along, I could’ve bought a 3-D printer for the sole purpose of printing things out that solve problems that I never knew I had.

I have a cheap clear tub/tote thingy with a lid and 2 layers of the blue shop towels on the bottom

I keep grease guns and funnels in the same tote

I simply wipe out the funnels and toss them in the tote and close the lid.

I have a wood shelf with a piece of wood front lip to keep the funnels from rolling around. A folded white cloth { old towel } soaks up any drips from each end.

Made me stop and think what I do with my funnels.

The larger oil funnel lives in the oil drain pan stored under a work bench.

The small, skinny funnel gets used for hydraulic oil, transmission and power steering fluids, etc. Just poke a rag thru it when I’m done and hang it back on the wall.

With all the plastic bags we get at the store, I just put my funnel unto one of them and hang it on a nail on the wall. No dirt collecting and drips are trapped. Next use, toss the old bag and get a new one. Have numerous ones for all my different funnels...
