Finally found a boat. 91 Chaparral 1800 SL with pics

Hi All,

I've looked at and walked away for a few boats in the last few weeks with much credit to many on the forum for putting up with Newbie questions and giving solid advice.

I paid a deposit on a 91 Chaparral 1800 SL Sport pending the water test which we will do on Sat (with a mechanic). It has already been checked and running on land by the mechanic and seems in great shape with a 4.3L Mercruiser

I'm looking forward to boating but too bad I need to winterize right away. Will be itching for spring to come

Looks very nice. The carpet and seats look to be in outstanding shape, especially for an 18 year old boat!!

You'll like that boat, I have the SL2000 and it handles beautifully and is very comfortable, the cushion between the bow seats pretty much gets in the way, we leave it at home.

Thanks for all the good wishes. Had water test today. . . boat runs like a champ. It even floats .

It's in outstanding shape for a 1991 inside and out - not a tear in the leather interior. Too I need to winterize it off the bat but for a boat in this shape can't turn the deal down.

Nice boat. That would really be a bummer to buy it and then winterize it. Depending on where you live, you may still have time to get out on it a few times. I know right after I have mine done I will have some real nice days where I wish I could go out on it, but for the past 2-3 weeks it has not been nice enough so I am getting it done now.
