Finally got the tow vehicle I wanted

'74 Buick LeSabre Luxus convertible!

445 c.i./7.5L 4 barrel, in this case it's 230 hp, 355 lbs/ft. I'm going to find or fabricate a class III hitch for it. Big block, body on frame, RWD, front disc brakes, I should be good. Solid frame, good floorboard and trunk, and supposedly 75k original miles. Needs a top pretty bad and eventually some rear quarter panel work but it should tow my Bayliner pretty well.

that is one heck of a car. i was raised with Buicks. if you keep your foot out of the carb, the 455 is more economical, than a 350. makes a great tow vehicle.

aye. I've googled and found those but the Bayliner's a little more than class I and pushing it with class II

Something I don't think a lot of people realize is that many older full size cars or even mid sized cars for that matter were built far better and far heavier than today's trucks.
There's not much that car shouldn't be able to pull with the right hitch. If you can't find one, build a hitch to fit it.

I think you have a 455 I've never heard of a 445
230 hp? thats a smallblock
your 455 is well over 300hp
Looks like a cool tow vehicle, you not going to fall into that all show no go catagory are you, after all it's really not anything trick, just a plain old buick road hog.

Yep, 455 for sure. But HP was way down because of the primitive attempts at reducing emissions back then. Not sure if 230 HP is correct, though.
