Went out fishing last evening and thought that I had better test this prop you sent me last winter. Sorry it took so long.

Anyway:

Its a Solas Scorpion 15 1/8" 25P Very High rake prop, [I had to remove the trimtab]. I run a Hi-Five 25P prop most of the time, Im unsure of the dia., but ita probably about a 14". It turns about 5,700 RPM at 53-54 MPH at WOT and I have to back down about a click on the trim for max bite. It has great hole shot. I also run a 15" 25P Turbo four blade that is just a bit slower out of the hole and it runs 54-55 MPH at about 5,500 RPM @ WOT and with the trim about the same.

Tested with fully loaded boat with two people on board:

This Solas prop is very smooth and I have no complants with the way it feels once on plane. It hooks well in turns, really carries the nose well and I can trim the engine more going slower with out porposeing than any prop I have ever tried. However, its just a bit too much prop for my needs. It was a pig out of the hole, Max RPM was only 5,400. Top speed was 57 MPH. Id like to try the same prop in a 23P. I actually got the last two miles an hour buy trimming down more than I normally have to, so it would seem that it doesnt like being too far out of the water. But it is a three blade and Im comparing it to props with more blades. Like I said, I really like the prop, its just a little bit too much prop for my application.

I think that if I were by myself, and with an unloaded boat, [I probably had over 50#s of tackle bags in the front of the boat]. it would be 60 MPH prop.

Thanks Kenny for the loan of the prop, Ill be sending it back soon.
