Az, when I sell stuff on Ebay, I always start the auction at the minimum I am willing to accept. I have no need to sell things dirt cheap to some bunghole who has the best snipeware. Having a reserve is the other obvious option, but I choose to just lay it all out there. If someone wants to buy it, great. At least I know I am not giving it away...

If I am confident my item will sell for a fair price then I usually start my auctions low with no reserve. This can be very risky but auctions are like casinos, once you get the people in they want to win. If I'm not so sure if an item will sell I start it low with a reserve. I think the key to a successful auction is to get people bidding.
