your are in an area that has a lot of really good boats for restoration. i see them all the time on ebay, probably within a day trip to pick up. or a weekend. it takes dilligent searching everyday to find good ones, search project boats, and ebay motors, boats. i search witht he option of newly listed, and check several times a day. i bought one in Cocoa, Fl Saturday, that had only been listed for 2 hours. the boats trash, but the motor and trailer are what i wanted. will put the boat back on ebay as a project hull for $20, and pick up. it's also cheaper to buy a boat and trailer and trash the boat, than it is to buy a trailer, usually.

Try CraigsList. I've gotten several off of there in the last year. The giveaways tend to pick up in the fall when people realize they're going to have to find a storage or get rid of that project they never got around to.

Speaking of buying that boat and trailer combo. I bought a boat motor and trailer combo, was planning on restoring the boat but it looked as if it had been rolled off the trailer once so it got junked. The trailer motor and some other hardware are making up for the money spent. So far trailer alone gone for 250 and I paid 200 for the combo.

Are you looking for a wood, aluminum or fiberglass project?

Tashasdaddy has it. Long studies on eBay. Boat Angel is another good source. They receive donated boats for a childrens charity, then auction 'em off. They auction thru eBay, and have their own site. They go for little of nothin. Most of the time they'll give the trailer away with the boat. KR

You may also want to look on ebay at people who are selling motors off of boats - quite often they will let the buyer take the boat. You could offer to take the boat if the winning bidder doesn't want it. If you see a boat you that really like, send the seller a note - sometimes there are bidders who only want the motor and you might be able to team up.

Good luck and happy hunting...
