By the 8th, he had 115 pitches, I agree he should have been pulled. It really does come down to good management and a winning attitude.

Re: Fire the BUM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pedro shouldn't have even come out for the eighth. He gave up 3 consecutive hits in the 7th and was losing it. All playoff long it had been Timlin in the 8th and Williamson in the 9th, why not last night. I have been disappointed with Grady all season long, making some really bad managerial mistakes. I know you can't blame an entire series on any one player or manager, but I think if there was any other manager (other than Dusty Baker), we would have won that game. Sob, Sob, Sob.

He has no contract for next year and you can bet he won't be back. In fact, if he is smart, he is packing his bags as we speak and planning on getting out of town.

The Cubs had a curse set upon them many years ago concerning a goat they wouldn't let into the ball park..must be a hidden curse that Boston doesn't know about...Still they played good ball but just not good enough..

I don't think it was Pedros fault. You ask any pitcher if he wants to come out he'll say no. You don't let the inmates run the assylum. Yankees vs. Marlins? Forgetaboutit

the ghost was a little late getting to the game.
got caught in traffic jam caused by water main
break :p
as far as blaming the coach, if he would have
pulled Pedro and the bullpen choked, they would
have said he shoulda kept him in...
if Boston would have won, they would have been
torchin Torres today for his line-up changes.
win and your a genius, lose and yur an idiot!

the difference in this game was super mario!
series MVP

Re: Fire the BUM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No way MY. After the 7th everybody on the planet knew Pedro was done and should not have come back for the 8th. There isn't a person in Boston who knows Pedro who does not know after 100 or so pitches he's done. Not one. Grady won't be back.

Manager's don't let pitchers make decisions like that. That's why they are called managers.

Here is some objective evidence. Did you listen to the call on Fox? The announcers were even shocked Grady let Pedro make the call. What pitcher worth his salt doesn't want to stay in at that moment?

Ralph was watching at that moment and could not believe it when they said that.
What was Grady thinking?
I know, he was out of plans to win and that was the best shot he had.

Re: Fire the BUM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was SURE he was gonna pull him when he went to
the mound Ralph
he rolled the dice just like torres did but he
lost! :p
one could argue that it was clutch hitting, not
bad pitching too, especially Posada's blooper.
for me the wheels starting coming off when the
fist baseman mysteriously tripped over a ghost ;)

besides, they had 3 innings to score just like the
yankees but got shut down by rivera. he won the
game for the yankees IMHO. deserved MVP for sure.
what a great game! reminds me of the bucky
dent homer to win that playoff game.
has aaron boone EVER hit one into the upper deck?
wish our 2 teams could play every game :)
I sure won't ever forget this one...
M.Y.
