After putting in a set of points just before winter, we (a friend and I) jumped into setting the timing today. The marina said it ran, but not well when they winterized it. Of course there was problems. For some reason the condensor went bad during the winter (I had replaced it along with points),but a new one, along with a new coil, and she started getting spark. After throwing a charger to the battery and multiple attempts she started running.

Just to double check, what is the firing order supposed to be? He set it up as 1-4-3-2. Timing is documented as 4 degrees, but he advanced to 6 degrees. Years of experience and being a motor head. Runs and sounds real good at fast idle. Smooooooth. When at idle (600-700) she wants to rock the boat a little...vibrates. Sounds good, just not as smooth as with the rpms up.

Everything sounding ok? Any tips?
