Re: Firing problem

Javman....how do you know it's fireing better on one side than the other? Did you take a spark test?

I'm trying to get more info outta you on what you've done so far to troubleshoot the engine.

Have you taken a compression test on all cylinders?

What do the plugs look like and when was the last tune up done?

Thanks

Re: Firing problem

I put new sparkplugs in it a couple of days ago. The test I ran was holding the sparkplug close to metal cheching spark. While the motor was running I pulled the sparkplug wires one at a time. On the right side the motor had no change as soon as I pulled the first one on the right the motor went to stalling. When I pulled the second one it quit. I told my mechanic what it was doing and he said I had an ignition problem but he can't get me in until Tuesday.Anything I can do to avoid taking to the shop would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Firing problem

Compression on bad side was about 25 on good side 95 to 100.

Re: Firing problem

I would suspect a blown head gasket at a minimum. You will have to pull the head and carefully inspect the "innards."
