Re: First minimost build.

Looks like you guys are doing good work, but I'm afraid your link isn't working. It would be better for the forum if you linked each picture into your thread here. You'll get a LOT more comments & feedback. You're doing great so share it with the world, man! Welcome to iboats, btw.

The easiest way is start a "reply" in your thread here, open a second tab that has your photobucket album up, then highlight whichever photo you want to insert, the fourth line down (IMG Code)when that pictures comes up, click in that box, then come back to the thread tab and "right click". It will paste your actual photo in the thread instead of a link. YOu can post up to 6 (I think) in each "reply" so if you want to share 30 photos, then just break them down into 5 replies.

It always helps to describe what we're looking at in the picture too. For example; this is a picture of my boat at WOT;

the link works when I just clicked on it,after it takes you yo photobucket my name (rickharrison1) should be at the top, click on that and my pics are there,I have to use my phone browser and it wont give me the go advanced option for posting, but if anyone can help me get them here that would be very helpful.

Re: First minimost build.

If you use a PC browser to open your Mobile Uploads folder on Photobucket, you'll see that each picture has a forum posting code and a direct URL listed for it that you can copy. The album itself can be shared as a link, like http://s1260.photobucket.com/albums/ii562/rickharrison1/Mobile%20Uploads/.

If you select the picture icon above, you can paste the URL of an individual picture in the place provided, or, you can add them manually by typing [ IMG ] then the URL then [ /IMG ] (without the spaces after [ and before ])

[ IMG]http://i1260.photobucket.com/albums/ii562/rickharrison1/Mobile%20Uploads/Clamps_installed_zps684f2ebc.jpg[ /IMG] becomes

Clamps_installed_zps684f2ebc.jpg

Much easier to do on a PC. Good luck!

Re: First minimost build.

thanks for that link to the photos, and for anyone reading this thread ,we corrected the V in bow on bottom plank, but it only made about 1"1/2 differance, were waiting for epoxy to dry in voids now and will be adding side panels and painting inside tomorrow with exterior oil base paint, also have just bought a 1965ish evinrude 9.5 for it ,motor runs good but is missing air cleaner box ,and starter.Still tryin to locate parts ,we want to fiberglass outside but I also heard we could mix polyester resin and acetone 50/50 and add catalyst and it would soak into wood, have any of you tried this?

Re: First minimost build.

I wonder why people are not building these anymore,I have looked over many forums and cant find anyone building one of these except me,I did find the muskoka site....but I filled out there registration then heard nothing from them,so I emailed the adminstration and they said they were working on it,after two more days I emailed them again because when I tried to go to the site it said,(not found/blocked php) they mailed me back and said there server deemed me a hacker...lol yea a hacker that fills out registrations instead of hacking....what a joke!

Re: First minimost build.

There's probably people out there, just don't have that "connection point". I think it's cool that you guys are building this one and thanks for sharing it. Now are you using a set of plans or a kit or what?

OH and the thing with the link, you have to have a photobucket account I believe for it to pop up. That's why it came up for you because your login was there. Keep those pics a'coming!

Re: First minimost build.

were building it from plans downloaded from svensons.com ,we already decided to build the sports hydro from there next, and bought the material friday so we will be busy all winter as it is a little more complex,I suggest to anyone that just cant find a way to connect with their child ,give this a try! We have bonded like never before ,she even gets up about seven o clock on the weekends now and wakes me so she can work on it,its very rewarding.

Re: First minimost build.

That's a great project. 50 years ago my dad helped me build my Minimost, powered by a 10 hp Mercury Hurricane o/b. Glad to hear they're still of interest. I'll have to look for an old (black & white) photo that I can scan. - Grandad

hey (Grandad) if you live in canada you should look at all of them being built at the muskoka seaflea site, they are on the muskoka lakes but their not very friendly with people not in canada building these, very strange attitude , but they have built some nice ones.

Re: First minimost build.

Great looking little boat, I love that you're posting you build progress here. I didn't join iboats until after I built my break down canoe/kayak, but LOVED building it. Enjoy the time w/ your daughter building it.

My only real suggestion would be to coat everything with whatever you plan to use as a waterproofing encapsulation of the wood, except the bonding surfaces, prior to installing the cap (top) skin. Once the cap is installed, there will be many areas that will be tough, near impossible to reach and coat well with the paint, polyurethane, spar varnish, epoxy or etc... And if you can get them coated once, it is unlikely that you would be able to reach them to sand & prep for a 2nd coat. And all those areas are where water would like to hang out & penetrate the wood...

Congrats again & you're making great progress. Looking forward to seeing it splashed
