Proper maintenance and flushing after each use will make that motor virtually 100% dependable. And the only maintenance you need to make sure is done is the impeller and greasing of all moving parts, i.e. kingpost, prop shaft and T&T parts. When putting in storage for winter, always treat the remaining fuel oil mix with fuel stabilizer. Ran the motor on muffs until the fuel in the carbs is replaced with the treated one from the tank. Depending on usage, I replace my impeller every two seasons. I use the boat less than 100 hrs each season. Congrats and enjoy.

Don't forget to check/clean/or replace the spark plugs every now and then.
I usually do mine after about 3-4 times out. Just remove, spray with a little Deep Creep, soak a minute, wipe and replace.
If it gets to running a little funky (struggle idling, etc), occasional de-carb, and clean the plugs!
Enjoy....

Thanks. I have been very careful to follow all the instructions found here for winter storage, have had all moving parts lubed, impeller was changed last year (i'd say about 30 hrs use since then). Fuel treatment, etc... Before going the first time, I started in driveway, let it idle for a little while, cleaned spark plugs and off to lake.
Went back to the lake yesterday with my daughter and had a great time. This is really enjoyable when it works!!
Cheers
