Starter will be in tonight and I will try to start the 120 mercruiser for the first time in 2 years(I just bought the boat Sunday). I am going to change the oil and filter, take the plugs out, turn it over by hand, put new plugs in, flush the fuel lines and add new gas. Then try to start it cups on it and running water of course.

What if anything would you do different or add?

Sitting for two years? You'll be fine, but check the gas. Take a smell of it and hopefully you don't smell varnish. If not, your in luck. I'd add some fresh gas, just a couple of gallons at first to get it running. I'd put the muffs on first and let the water run for 30 seconds or so. Will help lubricate the water pump in the outdrive. Put it in neutral and pump the throttle a couple of times and then start cranking. Make sure the kill switch is on run. May take about 30 seconds or so before she'll hit as the fuel pump will have to build up pressure first.

The fuel line has been disconnected from the fuel pump from when they removed the old starter last year. So I want to flush the lines to make sure a bug has not made it its new home. have to trace down the fuel filter too. Be good to change that.
