Took the boat out for the first time this year.Get on the river and hear this grinding noise like marbles well turned around and brought it back in before i got to far out.
Luckily there was a repair guy at the marina there he went back on the water with me and of course it didnt make the noise but siad maybe the trim was to high putting stress on the u-joint.
Well so we go back out and go for 30 down to 10 when i notice the boat wont go any faster.I look in the back and i have water coming in and filling fast.the drain plug was in but even at the dock the pump was pumping water out, which even the repair guy said was odd but i blew it off because of the other problem.
Well luckily we werent to far out again and i hobbled back to the doak before the engine flooded from the water coming in.
Here is my questions what would cause that amount of water to come in in suck a short period of time and would raising the trim make that kind of noise.
By the wat i have a 19ft bowrider with a merc 3.0 .

Re: First trip Blues

Also check the bellows, common leak source and a regular maintainence item.
