Heya!
I have a 1984 Procraft 1750v, Fish and Ski, with the windshield that opens up in the middle.
My windshield has come loose, and I noticed the fiberglass holes are a bit worn out.
I'm doing other fiberglass repair, and am going to just redo the holes...

While I'm at it, I was considering replacing the windshield completely.
I really like the more curved windshields, and was looking at the Tailormade Venturi ....
But, I am curious, I see all the sleek little bass boats, and they they have the split windshields (I dunno what else to call them.... separate windshields on either side) ....

Is there a benefit? I mean this thing isnt a speed boat by any stretch, She'll do about 40mph wide open.

So.... single windshield that opens... or two....
What's your opinions?

The only benefit is getting more breeze on hot days if you open the middle, or close it when it's cooler. If it's an open bowrider, ya you need the window, or if you need to access the bow for tying lines when docking and stuff. It's your boat, set it up how you like it to be.

I've been fishing on both types and prefer a walk through windshield over what I've always called pods( individual windshield for each console).
We fish late in the season and the admiral likes that we can close the center off with the windshield and our throwable pfd and block the wind on cool days and evenings while travelling down the lake.

Hrm.. Never thought about blocking off the bottom with the Pfd... Though this is Texas, so we only get like 2 cold days a year lol. (During the colder season I'm normally in the canoe hunting)

You reckon the full windshield over the 'pods' has any effect on the overall performance of the boat?

grub it's a 'Fish and Ski' so there's seats in front, and a fishing platform.
The windshield I'm looking at has the hatch opening (as the one on it now has) ... the 'Pods' would allow access to the front too.

I'm just torn between the two ... it's like 'ALL" bassboats now have the 'pods' ... and "All" fish and skis still have the windshield (with the opening) ....

I'm relatively now to this arena, and just don't know the difference between the two.
