Hello, looking for the best bang for the buck, I am not very flush right now and am looking at putting a fishfinder/GPS unit on my pontoon boat in the next month or so.
I am familiar with fish finders, and somewhat familiar with GPS units (mostly the tom tom variety for street navigation). What I want is a usable combo unit as there isnt much space available on the console. I will be wanting to be able to mark locations on the unit so that i can return to the same location at a later date (holes, structure, secluded pretty spots to park for the eve bite).
I am unsure if i need one that takes SD cards or not, and have had mixed results with different brand fish finders over the years. I am also looking to spend as lil as possible, as long as i can mark my locations and find fish I will likely be happy.
Thought that some of you might want to share your experience with me, or make suggestions as to what might be best for me.

So what do you guys think.

Bass Pro has an Eagle FishElite 480 combo on sale for $209 right now. Normally $359. When I talked to the guy he said it was just an older model. You can find it on their site. No idea how good it is.

thank you very much it looks like what i need...... darn it :( I just had to go look at the new down scan imaging systems :( well the 480 is what i need at 33% the cost of what i think i want lol..... I have done just fine on the jon boat with a lil humminbird that just shows me fish and depth....so the 480 will be a definite upgrade for the pontoon, and the $200 will be much easier for the wife to swallow than the $600+ price tags of the fancy units.
