Fish Finder Recommendations?

I have a small 15' fiberglass boat. I like to fish but I'm not a "Tournament Fisherman" by any stretch of the imagination. Still, I think having a fish finder would be a useful tool if not a fun toy. With my boat and experience/skill level in mind what's a good fish finder for me? I don't want a useless piece of junk and OTOH I don't want to throw money away on advanced featured I'll never need or understand. I'll probably mount it somewhere near the stern since that's where I can reach the trolling motor from.

Thanks in advance.

Eagle Cuda 168, works well, has more features than most inland water fishermen will use, and its cheap, about $100.
If you want to spend a few more bucks, Eagle has several more models in the $120-$170 range.

IMO, stay away from the under $70 units that are out there.

IMO, whatever budget you decide on, get the most vertical pixels you can afford. You read a lot of bad reviews on this board about humminbird but my Pirana3 is economical, useful and shows accurate depth, structure and fish, I just want better resolution.

Except that I don't get a reading at any speed over idle - but I'm pretty sure that's a transducer mount problem I just haven't got around to fiddling with yet.

If I was shopping today I'd spend the extra $25 & get the Eagle roscoe mentioned.
