OK ALL, Wife told me last night "I have 500 - 700 to buy a new fish thing(fish finder) and the direction thingy "(GPS) that I have been wanting to get for new boat. Which I got back from Alumn. welder on friday. Started redecking on Sat. Sorry I drifted. Anyway, I want to get seperate units. All of my fishing is 150" or less. I need suggestions on what to get so I get most for money. I have looked at the following but not sure what to buy.
Garmin:
240
250
250c
Lowrance x51
Eagle
x58
x67c
x100c
x135 P0wer pro
Humminbird 565 T/M
I want to get the largest screen that I can find and go at least 320 x 320 or better.
Let me know what type you prefer.

Re: fish finders and GPS

I just went with the x135 myself. I talked to a product specialist at Cabelas and said it's hard to beat that model. It has 4000 watts peak to peak and 480x480 and a very very proven name. The 4000 watt peak to peak will make the weak signals stronger and you may see fish that on other models you wouldn't normally see.

Joe

Thanks Joe. I am goeing to keep checking post to see what others use also. I have a old eagle classic that I like, but it has started giving some problems lately, shuts down by its self, and I want to get a newer model. I would like to get both ff and gps and mount on toon when I finish restoring. This will be a wicked fishing platform when I finish.
Michael

It's on the upper end of your price range but the 188C is a nice machine if you want to go with a combo
