Hi everyone,
I have a FH 280 which I have used a few times and did some mods. I was wondering about looking into upgrading the oars for potential rowing only. I have an motor and battery, but was wondering about a rowing-only day. I was curious...
1) anyone bought any upgraded oars that are more solid, powerful, and held up well?
2) how effective is rowing in one of these boats?
3) Anyone upgrade the oar mounts on the boat?

Thanks!

:welcome: to iboats Jason Seaward. Nice to have you aboard...

I see you haven't received any replies. And that could be because usually when folks have no idea, they don't leave any suggestions or comments. You could post a few pictures of what you are talking about, and that usually drums up responses. So post a few pictures for us to see what you are talking about. Then we can offer our ideas and suggestions to help you out. JMHO!

You can step up from the low cost versions that it come with, but it all comes down to prefernce and how much you want to spend. The normal wood oars work OK and are somewhat affordable, just find the correct length for you a (it varies by your height, strength and where you go boating). Or, you can take the next step and spend about $200.00 or more for each oar, this gets you high end composites, light weight, plus the flex you desire.
