This is an actual emergency room photo of a fisherman who lost control of his high-speed bass boat in West Virginia .. Warden's believe that he was traveling at a speed of approximately 75 mph at the time of the accident. He was unable to negotiate a curve in the narrow waterway. Unfortunately for him, upon striking the shoreline and being ejected from the boat, he landed back end first on an old fence post.

You can probably picture what happened next, but the attached picture really says it all. The good news is that after about 6 months, this man made a full recovery after suffering a shattered hip, broken leg, several broken ribs, internal injuries and soft tissue
damage. Doctors credited his recovery to the fact that the post lodged itself so tightly that there was little or no blood loss.

Now that's got to hurt!!

Re: Fisherman beware

First it was a motorcycle, then a pick up truck and in 2006 the bass boat deal came around.
Don't know who if any to believe.

"old fence post"
Don't look to old to me, looks like it's still a little green.
snopes has it listed as undetermined.

Re: Fisherman beware

That's too big to be a fence post... looks more like a telephone pole. Probably from a tornado or something like that. I'm not buying the bass boat story, but I do think it was a real injury. I'm sitting on the fence on wether to believe he survived or not (pun intended).

I've got a vid of some idiot running from the cops on an overpass, and he tries to jump down from the overpass, but he lands on a fence and it goes through his jaw all the way through his head and comes out the top, he was left dangling there... he didn't survive.

I've seen another vid of someone who jumped from a 2nd story window and got caught in the leg by a wroght iron fence that went in and out and looked damn painful as they hung there from it. Of course... it wasn't nearly like this pic.
