does anyone know if a side immaging transducer for a 798 hummingbird ,can be mounted in bottom of 383v ranger bass boat and work properly thanks for your help.:confused:

I would assume that if you mounted the transducer straight to the bottom, you will not have side scan ability anymore. It would have to be set against the side of the hull to operate properly and that position will have to be below the water line. BUT, I would contact the manufacturer for proper installation to be absolutely sure before epoxying any transducer(s) to the inside of your hull... JMHO!

No! It needs a full view left and Right.
Mount it in the Hull and Side Scan will be gone.

I needs to be below the hull and able to see under the keel.
If it looks across the back of the Transom the image to that side will be extremely noisy.

Yeah, I got side imaging on my 988 I got last year. It needs to "see" both port and stbd. I had to move mine down a little and now I get some splashing at speed but I live with it. Won't work inside the boat.
