Power... How many watts can ya get with the $200 bucks allowance, and how easy is it to use..

$200.. Hummmm.. Well, Furuno is probably outta the question... No, on second thought, Ya might be able to score a Furuno 4100 with a transducer for $200 or less... Pound for pound, the little 4100 has more features than all the others...

Don't think you could go wrong with Eagle either...

Go with an Eagle 480 or Eagle 320. Both under $200. That's my opinion. I've had the 320 for about 1 year and have no complaints at all. For the money, I think they are a pretty good deal . The 320 is like $159. and the 480 is $189 I think.
There are plenty of good finders for under $200. Check the pixel counts. Watts is not that important for me as I only fish in 50 ft of water at the very maximum. Most finders can reach depths that most people will never see anyways.
I do see that you are in FL though, clear readings in 500 ft of water may be necessary for you. Not this guy.
D

I'd be all over that Furuno myself. They make the best fish finders, no doubt at all about that.

Thom

Re: FISHFINDERS????????????

I just bought a cuda 240 gps. Man I anguished over the decision and finally decided to sacrafice pixels for integrated gps. I have only played with it for about 10 minutes yesturday but I like it alot. the diffrence between it and my old hummingbird is night and day. I thought about leaving the old unit on the boat but after seeing my new one I dont want that nasty old thing cluttering my dash. Ultimatly I decided where in the past I caught them was proabably more important to me than the extra clarity. Not a profesional opinion just my ramblings and thoughts on my decision. Plus I will never know what I missed with the fishmark 480. Those were the two I had narrowed it down to myself. My guess is you would be happy with any of the new units compared to your old one. Let us know what you decide and if you have any regrets...I don,t except that I only got to use it ten minutes yesturday.

i guess ill be the only one to stand up for humminbird on this site, i gotta tell ya ive got a new humminbird 565 cost 196 bucks off of walmart .com this unit works great, the old ones might have sucked but with 640 vertical pixels, you will not find one with more pixels than this under 200 bucks, granted its only 250 watts but if your mainly in lakes it should work fine.for about 250 humminbird makes a matrix i think its model 25 or 27 i cant remember but it has 500 watts.
