The wife and I went to Caddo Lake last week to do some fishing. Had a great time, fish were slow, the tent kept us dry one stormy night, and even did some gambling in Shreveport, but the highlight of our trip was when we got a call from our son. He said he had a little accident in my 1966 Mustang, he's fine but car alittle damanged.
Now this car, I just put on road last Ap., new paint, complete new interior, vinyl top, all mechanical stuff rebuilt except motor and trans.
Well I could go on and on but it was time to go home. Made the corner at our street and my heart dropped like a lead ballon. There set my car, He slid side ways into metal light pole. Passenger door, rocker shoved in about 10 inches, roof poking up about 10 inches, unibody bent aswell as both qtr. panels. Now my son has the guts to ask when can he take the boat out?
What do ya'll think?

You mean he can still walk?
I have '64 El Camino and my youngest, 21, ask when she could drive it.
Well I was on floor for about 15 minutes laughing at her.
She just turned around and walked out of the garage.
I also had a '65 Fastback and a '66 and sold them both to a guy that is a Mustang fanatic.

If you do not make him pay for every dime that you feel it is worth, then you are doing him a big disservice! He has evidendly never learned any respect for anyone or anything. Not only that, he would never be behind the wheel of anything I owned again untill he was 50!

Im really sorry to hear of your loss! :(

I assume that you gave him permission to drive it, Cajun.

You are accountable.

Yes, I know I'm accountable, I'm just glad I didn't have to bury him. I know I'm heartbroken, but cars can be replaced but people can't. I'm just trying to help him out to get by the same as my pappy did for me when I was a kid. I've still got another 1966 mustang, but he dosen't touch it. Its the one I've had since 1972. Its really got some memories, from dates, brought 3 of my kids from hospital after they were born.
Thanks for the shoulder to cry on.
