Ok, need some pros and cons between the 2.

Is a regular bass boat better or a Fish and Ski for an all around boat?

Price wise, which is worth more?

Which can you buy cheaper?

Re: Fishing VS Fish&Ski

Hey SBN:

I have a F/S Glass Bass Tracker, but you knew that, Its a fish and ski Bass boat, they also make the fish and ski regular type boat, (higher sides and all with glass windshields). I like my boat, but I do not like the fact that it doesnt have very good rod storage. The wife insisted that it be a dual console, and I do not blame her. If I were doing any tournament fishing, I would have a regular single console boat. If I had an occation more than once in awhile, like a family at home, I would opt for the regular style F/S boat with the glass wind shields. More room inside and safer for the little ones.

OK, Value, There are more single console boats out there, and I think they are easier to sell, I think value is about a toss up. The regular boats, F/S are cheaper I think, and may be harder to sell, and not nearly as fast with the same power. MHO.

What do you mean "all around boat"?
Going to be doing any cruising and/or towing tubers or skiers? Will you be visiting waters where a little more freeboard will make for a lot more comfort than a bass boat can offer? How many people will you be taking out? Bass boats are superb for exclusively fishing relatively calm fresh water areas. As good as they are for that there are other boats which handle rougher water, towing, or more passengers more easily. Decide this first, THEN ask the financial questions. My 2 cents worth...

My Bro-in-law has a Crestliner F/S boat and I think it serves it's purpose well. You can do both comfortably, yet it has more room when everything is stored. The windshield is a definite plus. It handles fairly rough waters fine. As Lubedude said, depends on your needs...No doubt the F/S is cheaper than a true bass boat..

all around? Fish 'n' ski. If it's solely a bass boat, there's nowhere for passengers to sit. That can work to your advantage, in that the wife & kids won't all the time be wanting to cut into your fishing time. Before they were absorbed by Mastercraft, Cajun had a great design for fish 'n' ski - a hinged rear deck that folded back to reveal a row of seats, and velcro'd cushions for the front deck made it a serviceable "bowrider." Haven't seen that kind of design since.
