I purchased a solas 3 blade lexor prop from iboat 2 wks ago. It seems as though the thrust washer is wrong size. The splines on the propeller match up exactly with splines on the shaft. There is no splines left for castle washer to fit on. Has anyone else run into this problem. Called solas and they recommended their thrust washer. I don't know their specs so it could be the same as mercs. Any help or advice would greatly be appreiciated. Thanks for all of your help on past posts!

Re: Fitting solas prop to mercruiser 888

I don't have an 888 or a Luxor but I had to seriously modify what was there from Merc. to make my new Solas prop fit earlier this year as well. I guess I learned to buy the hub kit with the prop. My modified washers are fine, but next time I'm going to get the whole kit and caboodle.
I used the automatic prop selector on iBoats and thought it was going to be touch and go but I had to spend an hour fitting it, should have bought the hub kit.
I think Solas is leading you in the right direction with their washers. You only need about a 1/4" to proper engage the prop nut washer into the splines right ?

Thanks guys for your responses! I too used the prop selector from iboat and thought things were going to be a snap. Hopefully solas hub kit will work.
