FIX IT PROBLEMS HELP!!!!!!

I HAVE A EARLY 80'S, 9.9 HP CHRYSLER BOAT MOTOR. I RECENTLY BOUGHT A NEW RECOIL SPRING FOR IT AND HAVING ALOT OF TROUBLE INSTALLING IT. IF ANYONE KNOWS THE WAY TO INSTALL PLEASE REPLY. A STEP BY STEP DIAGRAM HOW TO START THE PROCESS AND FINISH WOULD BE OF GREAT HELP.<br />THANKS

Howdy, Scooder. That is a tough one. It can be done with great patience. Here's how I do it:<br /><br />Wear gloves, long sleeve shirt and safety glasses.<br /><br />Start by hooking in the "inside" end. Then gradually wind the spring into the case by rotating the spool about 1/4 turn at a time.<br /><br />If there are women and/or children about the correct terms to shout when the spring leaps out and sproings all over the shop are: "Pergaclosikpep!!" "Forgalumic Pecalumer!!" and "Oh, my goodness!"<br /><br />Good luck, Scooder. Just remember: It CAN be done.<br /><br />Red sky at night. . . .<br />JB
